“If you’re not with us, you’re against us.”
Yep. We know this to be untrue, yet today that’s how many people will be quick to judge their social media friends’ profiles.
Two separate movements (at least two) are using the same concept on social media. To avoid confusion, I’m doing neither.
If someone judges me by my profile picture remaining the same, a truly insignificant part of who I am and my position on anything, perhaps that has exposed more of the root of our problem – quick to judge, quick to label, quick to divide.
I work towards equality in a different way. I appreciate my friends who understand me and support me as I do them with their ways of expressing themselves. We all have our approaches to supporting a cause – no better, no worse – we are all unique in how we do it.
Please be thoughtful before you judge. Please feel supported if you’re not inclined to change your social media profile.
