“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”
– Lao Tzu
One of my favorite episodes of Friends is “The One with the Cop” or unofficially “The One with Pivot”. I love that my friends think of me when they watch the episode or see a Pivot meme. I love it because it makes all of us laugh… raising the vibration… It’s a really good feeling to be associated with something that brings joy.
My license plate reads PIVOT. With however many Friends fans out there, I am hopeful that they see it and laugh. If a fan has gotten stuck in I-495 traffic, sees my plate, and forgets even briefly how annoyed they feel about sitting in the stop-n-go nonsense, the PIVOT plate has done its job.
Lately PIVOT has felt like more than just a two-syllable word that stirs up a memory of, “pivot… pivot… PIVOT… PIV-OUGHT!” (of course followed by, “Shut up! SHUT UP! SHUT UUUUUUP!”) Ross had a plan to move a couch and avoid paying a delivery charge. To navigate the stairwell, they needed to pivot (change direction at a specific point) to continue ascending to the next floor. Ross, Chandler, and Rachel ended up wedging the couch.
My journey has no shortcuts, and up ’til now, every time I tried to create a shortcut, I got stuck. I don’t know if that’s a failure to pivot or pivoting at the wrong time. LOL I was on a break (WTF with all the Rossness?) so I could unstick myself from the stairwell. Now I have the freedom to move in any direction like the queen on a chessboard. I may have to upgrade my tiara to a crown! 😉 I may find myself moving in the wrong direction again somewhere further down my path, but I’ve learned that guides are always available on the journey – I just have to read them or stop to ask for help.
I’m still climbing, continuing to ascend and watching the horizon expand. It’s a great place to shine brilliantly and let my light reach further than I or eye can see. 🙂
