“There’s nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons.”

Storytime But Not Blogworthy
When I was very young, my mom loved it when I laughed so hard that I wrinkled my nose like this. I had forgotten how much she loved my laugh. I feel grateful for the people in my life whose kind words brought out this memory of my mom. Thank you for all of your encouragement and support in my mission.
Yet here I am writing a blog post about LAUGHING because today is the “fifth heavenly birthday” of my friend, Connie, and she has been coming to mind A LOT since last week. I reckon it makes sense because of her birthday, but a bunch of nudges from different people have added up and brought me to this post.
Connie and I shared a favorite Facebook not-quite-a-meme meme:
“If you’re not going to snort, why bother laughing?”
– The Interwebz
In my previous post about smiling, I barely mentioned laughing. [In media res: just a moment ago, I received one sentence on Facebook messenger at which I laughed out loud and felt another nudge from Connie.] If I had not gotten out of my comfort zone and started posting videos on Instagram and TikTok, then I would not have received kind words, such as “I love your laugh” which carried me back to early memories with my mom.
And all of that feels magical. Yes, of course I see the logical flow of an action and its results, but I also believe coincidences do not exist and divine orchestration.
I love laughing, and I love people who make me laugh. I love people who remind me not to worry and that everything will be all right.
The most recent thing someone said that made me laugh hard out loud: “You’re hot, like, doughnut grease hot.” ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐๐๐
So laugh. Make someone else laugh. Let YOUR light shine because we shine brighter together.
